Lee Jong Suk is not only an angelic face.
On December 30, the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation revealed that the actor donated ₩100 million (approximately $84,119). The donation will benefit young people acquiring certifications after leaving childcare institutions once they reach the age of 18.
The “Romance Is a Bonus Book” star explained why he decided to make a charitable donation, saying that he understands the difficulty for young people on their way to independence to stand on their own feet, especially during the extended Covid-19 pandemic. “I don’t think independence can be achieved overnight. I hope that children living in childcare institutions will grow up healthy and enjoy many opportunities without restrictions in their education and career,” the actor stated.
Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation chairman Lee Je Hoon also expressed his gratitude to Lee Jong Suk for his massive donation sent before the end of the year. “Young people, who have taken their first steps into society, are having more difficulty becoming independent due to the prolonged pandemic. The Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation will also do its best to help them become healthily self-dependent,” the chairman also added.
At the moment, Lee Jong Suk is working on his new drama “Big Mouth.” He will work with Girls’ Generation’s YoonA on the upcoming legal drama airing in 2022.
